SEO in Saudi Arabia: Arabic, Local & Technical Checklist
A practical SEO checklist for Saudi businesses: Arabic and English pages, local business details, indexing, service content and measuring qualified enquiries.
Start with the customer and the page
SEO for a Saudi business starts with a clear connection between a customer’s search and a useful page. Identify the services you actually deliver, the areas you serve, the languages your customers use and the next step you want them to take. Prioritize pages that can help a relevant customer evaluate your business. A ranking report alone does not tell you whether the enquiries suit your services.
Make Arabic and English pages useful
Give Arabic and English versions their own accessible URLs, translated main content and language links. Each version should explain the same scope, exclusions and contact options. Check Arabic headings, numbers, forms and navigation on a phone; translating the menu while leaving the substance in another language is not a complete bilingual experience. Ask your developer to verify the language-alternate annotations against Google’s localized-page guidance.
Build the page map around different needs. A service page explains what you deliver, a pricing guide helps someone plan a budget, and a case study demonstrates relevant completed work. Link them where the connection helps the reader. If two pages answer the same question in the same way, improve or combine their content instead of changing a few city names to create another page.
Check local business information
For local enquiries, keep the business name, address, phone, opening hours and service area accurate on the website and the Business Profile you manage. Choose categories that describe the actual business and add current photos and services. Google describes local ranking in terms of relevance, distance and popularity. More complete information helps people evaluate the business, but it cannot remove distance or guarantee placement.
Verify indexing and mobile experience
Inspect the important pages in Search Console. Can Google discover the URL through an ordinary link? Does the live page work, and do indexing settings allow the intended content to appear? Check whether the canonical URL and language versions match your plan. A URL being submitted in a sitemap does not mean it has been indexed; investigate the reported reason before repeatedly resubmitting it.
Review page experience through tasks rather than appearances alone. Open the service page on a phone, read the main information before images finish loading, navigate a comparison table and submit the contact form. Compare available Core Web Vitals field data and lab measurements separately. Reduce oversized media and unnecessary work when measurements identify them; do not promise rankings from a performance score.
Connect services, guides and evidence
Write service content around a buying decision: who the service is for, deliverables, implementation stages, dependencies, price factors and support. Show permitted examples of completed work and distinguish them from illustrative designs. Identify the company or person responsible for the content and support changing or numerical claims with dated evidence. Keyword repetition cannot replace useful answers.
As an illustrative example, a Dammam website developer could connect a website-development page to a bilingual launch checklist, a scope-and-cost guide and an actual project portfolio. The commercial page would describe the delivery; the guide would answer planning questions; the project would show what was built. This is a planning example, not evidence of a particular ranking or client result. The checklist below helps assign a concrete check to each part of the site.
| Area | Check | Useful evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Search intent | One clear purpose for each important page. | A page map connected to actual customer questions. |
| Languages | Equivalent information and working language links. | Arabic and English task checks on a phone. |
| Local information | Accurate name, contact details and service area. | Website and managed Business Profile reviewed together. |
| Indexing | Important URLs accessible and indexable as intended. | Search Console URL Inspection and live-page checks. |
| Trust | Clear ownership and relevant completed work. | Company details, permitted project evidence and sources. |
| Enquiries | Contact actions work and results can be followed up. | Successful test enquiry and recorded sales outcome. |
Measure enquiries and review AI search separately
Measure the same date range, country, device and page when comparing search results. Separate branded searches from identifiable non-brand queries, and remember that Search Console may omit some queries for privacy. Review clicks and impressions alongside successfully submitted enquiries and sales qualification. A click on a phone or WhatsApp link is an expression of interest, not proof of a completed sale. Record content and tracking changes so their effects can be interpreted cautiously.
AI search should fit into this work rather than replace it. Google says its established SEO practices apply to AI Overviews and AI Mode without an additional special optimization requirement. Accurate, accessible content is useful, but neither schema markup nor an llms.txt file guarantees a citation. Start with the pages and customer tasks above, then review any additional search surface against its own current documentation.
